I am building an Android app with offline functionality, which means the app will only get data when the user is logged in. The problem is, the app must get a large amount of data when the user logs in, which makes login slower. But the demand from my superior is the app must work offline. Does anyone have some advice to solve this situation, or is this normal when you make an offline app?

normally the app would be generating the data, so it can just keep a copy. If you just have a lot to download then shrug what compromise can you make? download a little bit at a time? – Ewan Jun 12 at 10:46

Or download in the background while the user is becoming familiar with the app? – Robert Harvey Jun 12 at 17:37
