I've just finished a multi processed backend framework for a web server. The web server and processes are all written in C++.The web server sends a request to a free process which serves it back as quickly as possible (performance is a huge requirement).

However I'm aware that logging is a must for a back end of this size. Logging should take place in the web server, it's threads, and the processes themselves. However this is the first time I've done something like this and I'm unsure of what the best methods to log are, especially when it comes to having multiple different processes. I need logging to have as minimal a impact on performance + memory as possible.

If anyone has any advice about logging for a system described above (web server backend + multi-processed), please let me know.
