Bell Labs fanboy: Unix, C, Blit, Plan 9, Go...
C is nice and simple, but easy to mess up. C++ is overly complicated, but also nice. Lua, Python, Ruby etc. are dynamically typed, which is the wrong level for most stuff I work on. Rust is great, but too complex. Go is great, only inflexible.
Let's fix current stuff before worrying about innovation: Windows is messy, Linux is messy, OS X is messy and expensive...
Mobile OSes (Android mostly, and iOS somewhat) got it all wrong, in terms of interface, implementation, usability, programmer convenience, abstraction and efficiency. The mobiles themselves are a great idea, though.
