I obtained my Diplom-Ingenieur degree in software engineering from Graz University of Technology (Austria) in 2011. This degree is formally equivalent to an MSc in an international context.

I have been working full-time in the software industry ever since, using mostly Java, C++, Node.js/TypeScript, Oracle SQL and SQLite. Some projects and tasks in my jobs got me exposed to many other technologies as well, including C#, Scala and even VBA.

I find it fascinating how the basics of computer-systems architecture, good software design, data modelling, the separation between structure and presentation and the distinction between interface and implementation all remain valid with every new technology, and I love to find and study those recurring themes.
