As humans we tend to associate with people who mirror ourselves - so if you've spent time building a profile on Stack Overflow, Hacker News etc you may eventually forget that there is a world of people out there who have never even heard of those. Some of those people are the best programmers you'll ever meet. I have to confess I've never heard of Hacker News. Having said that, I do take your point. | |
