Is using HTTPS for web service callcalls secure enough?

I'm developing a software who call somethat calls a SOAP web service i'veI've created.

My questions are about security:

  1. Is it "enough" (about securing web service) to have my web site secured with httpsHTTPS, and to call it the web service using httpsHTTPS?

  2. If not:, how can I prevent "illegitimit" user"illegitimate" users/software callfrom calling my web service  ?

Thanks
